#8 Discover the future of operating systems, exclusive GPT Store Launch and check out the world of volumetric capturing
Ready for the weekend? Great! Let's kick it off with this innovation Substack, edition 8 of our bi-weekly digest. This week, we'll talk about a major revolution in operating systems, the GPT store, and our experience testing a photogrammetry lab.
Rabbit AI OS: The Interface of the Future is Starting to Emerge
2024 has just entered the chat, and the technological advancements in the world of LLMs and generative AI are already leveling up. Rabbit AI, a company from the United States that is researching new ways of interacting with the internet, has launched its first LLM-based operating system with an accompanying AI-assistant device.
Large Action Model
Their philosophy is that we need to reinvent the way we interact with the internet. Our whole smartphone ecosystem is currently based on the usage of apps. For every task, a different app seems to be the way we do things at the moment. While many big tech companies have tried to launch a true AI assistant like Google Assistant, Siri, or Alexa, it’s still a bit lacking in ways of actually being able to perform actions on its own.
The Large Action Model (LAM) of Rabbit is able to look at websites, understand what it is reading and seeing, and perform actions like a human would interact with the sites. This is a whole new way of using large language models and computer vision to interact with the internet. Therefore, this AI Assistant is able to do actions when you ask it for something. For example, if you want to book a trip to London and want a nice hotel and a plan for things to do during your visit, you would ask the AI this via speech. The LAM will find you all the info and is able to actually book the whole thing for you. You will only have to confirm the steps it is taking.
The company projected to sell approximately 500 devices in total. But the demand exceeded this estimation, with 10,000 orders being placed in the first 24 hours alone.

Launch of GPT Stores
Over the past few months, users of ChatGPT+ (the paid version) had the possibility to create their personal GPT. This means you can create a custom version of ChatGPT that performs a specific task for you. Examples include Spotify playlist makers based on specific festivals or a personal copywriter that knows how you want it to write.
Now, there is a new store where you can sell the GPT you've crafted. You might think, "But why? I can just create the GPT myself." We believe it will mainly impact the GPTs that have external API functionality built into them.

Tested: Volumetric Capturing and Neural Radiance Fields
The world of Neural Radiance Fields (NeRFs, in short) was introduced to many innovation enthusiasts like us in 2023. With tools like Lumalabs or Polycam, it has become much easier to capture NeRFs and create new 3D models with them in just a few clicks. Our Innovation Manager, Bas, visited one of the few volumetric capturing studios, 4DR Studios, in the world in Eindhoven this week. In this blog, we’ll discuss his experience and highlight some of the major developments in the world of volumetric and programmatic capturing.
